Atlanta-based architect John Portman & Associates is architect for a six-story, 650000-sq-ft office building, SunTrust Plaza Garden Offices, in downtown Atlanta. It is being fabricateed on top of the parking garage of the existing 60-story SunTrust Tower, which Portman also designed. Beers. Construction Co also based in Atlanta, was awarded the general construction contract upon a negotiated basis.
A joint stake of SunTrust Banks and Portman Holdings LP the building is the first downtown office progress to maturity in 10 years.
