$60 million renovation to transform US Airways Arena into entertainment center
The phrase "I wanna be like Mike," wants no explanation. In the last 10 years, sports players and franchises have gained enormous power in America's conscious -- like power that cities are clamoring to armed force or keep teams by building recent arenas. As a result, operators of older arenas frequently have difficulty finding new uses for the facilities one time franchises move on.
That won't be a point in dispute for suburban Landover, Md.'s US Airways Arena.
