Commercial construction will dip slightly this year, still don't lose sleep throughout it. The market is generally in upright health and early signs hint that it will swing back to life in 1999 In 1998 commercial construction spending will slip just 07 percent to $928 billion. This succeeds an estimated gain of 78 percent in 1997 that placed spending at $935 billion. and nothing else one component of commercial construction will decline in 1998: retail construction spending. Meanwhile, spending for one as well as the other office (see article above) and hotel/motel construction will continue to rise
