The first major changes to design criteria for implementing the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) are in the works. The propos access guidelines are wait fored to be released for public annotation in January.

"Dramatic changes are anticipated and they ne to be considered at carefully by businesses," said John P Salmen president of Universal Designers & Consultants Inc., a Rockville, Md consulting firm that specializes in design for accessibility.
