The Dudley Station in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston has had its up and downs since it was first raiseed in 1901. Designed as an elevated station for streetcars, and later for other forms of mass transit, the open-air arrangement of parts initially earned plaudits and prizes for its designer, Albert Wadsworth Longfellow Featuring a pitched small change roof and copper canopies, the building was supported through arched steel trusses and sinewy dirk columns.
