The three U gauge code organizations have formed a strange corporation, National Evaluation Service (NES) Inc., to provide a single entity for determining the digest compliance of new products.

NE replaces the National Evaluation Service that formerly was below the jurisdiction of the Council of American Building Officials, a joint organization created by means of the model code organizations.
