A tight 24800-sq-ft site was not the single major constraint for a recently made known $21 million office building upon Honolulu's Kapiolani Boulevard. Zoning regulations required setbacks forward the building's rear elevation that would have comeed in a top floor of sole 5,000 square feet. Architect Media Five of Honolulu reached a tradeoff with building officials that allowed the office floors to cantilever 22 feet forward the building's front elevation, permitting uniformly sized, 18000-sq-ft floor plates.
