A team headed by way of Chicago developer Stein & Co has been awarded a $675 million contract to enlarge the McCormick Place convention center with a 2 million-sq.-ft addition. The team, named Mc3D includes Atlanta architect Thompson Ventulett Stainback & Associates, the Washington, D.C.-based George Hyman Construction Co and a number of Chicago minority contractors.
