After four years of thought and research, the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) has released its data communications protocol for building automation and sways network BACnet - for public review.
"BACnet will allow building direct equipment from many different manufacturers to be integrated in a rational way for use in a single project" said Mike Newman, chairman of ASHRAE's standard draw committee and manager of facility engineering for Cornell University.
