A $149 million expansion and restor...
A $149 million expansion and restoration of the Texas State Capitol in Austin is being overseen by the agency of two Texas-based architectural firms. Houston-based A/E 3D/International is providing architecture and engineering for the subterranean addition, and San Antonio-based architect Ford, Powell and Carson Inc. is designing the restoration program for the 103-year-old Capitol.
The 560 000-sq -ft addition is to include House and Senate office suites, offices for staffs of the governor, an auditorium and pair levels of parking for 670 cars.
