Contractors involved in nonresidential building markets adapted well to an environment that continued to be extremely competitive, according to the inferior annual financial survey of members at the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA). The 291 firms making up the Industrial and Nonresidential Contractors category of the 1990 review had an average after-tax toil income of 1.1 percent of incomes down slightly from 1.2 percent a year earlier.
