Connecticut designers to challenge state service tax
Lobbyist hired to help repeal the tax during the nearest legislative session
A coalition of design professionals in Connecticut has been formed to strive for the repeal of an 8 percent state tax forward services performed by building design, planning and engineering firms. In result since July 1989, the tax was enacted as part of a $1 billion tax package intended to increase receiptss for the state, which does not raise income tax.
